Far away, a small village surrounded by towering mountains held a running race as part of a yearly tradition to commemorate a bountiful year.

The race winners were announced after three grueling hours of pushing their limits. Jeremy won as the first winner, followed by Tom and Casey.

As they were called to the podium stage, people could see how happy Jeremy was as it reflected in his smile, but deep down, he realized that his challenge was bigger as he needed to protect his position and fulfill more people’s expectations of him that comes from family, friends, coach, and fans.

Even though his bright smile shone upon the stage, he kept looking at his shoulder.

Tom followed on the 2nd position, trying to smile through the disappointment. So close to winning, yet it felt miles away. He’s struggling to fulfill what he was demanded to do.

Then there was Casey, beaming with joy in third place. For Casey, just being in the race was a win, and making it to the podium was beyond dreams. “Who would’ve thought?” Casey wondered, grateful for every moment of the race.

Their stories spread across the villages thousands of miles away, telling the moral of their stories and perspectives about life.

Jeremy’s story taught me that success is not a destination but a journey that demands vigilance, perseverance, and the courage to face new challenges.

Tom’s tale was a poignant reminder that the narrow focus on what we lack can blind us to the value of what we have achieved.

And Casey’s experience whispered the truth that joy comes not from the height we reach but from the climb itself.

Jeremy’s mind is consumed by thoughts of the future.

Tom is struggling with the past, replaying the race in his head, wishing he had done things differently and won first place.

Meanwhile, Casey is savoring the moment. She felt the cool breeze on her face and the warmth of the sun on her skin, knowing how precious the moment is to be able to stand on the podium stage.

“Isn’t it amazing how happiness isn’t found in a highest place or at the destination, but rather in the journey itself?”
